Supervisor Training
The position of supervisor is very critical to the AAA Security, Inc. operational
structure. We always put special effort into selecting and training the
individuals chosen to be supervisors.
The AAA Security Officer must meet the following
criteria prior to applying for the position of supervisor.
- No disciplinary action at least 90 days prior to applying.
- Must have demonstrated a good attendance record.
- Must have a good driving record.
An officer candidate must then pass a written exam covering Oregon Law, Company Policy, and
some common sense questions. If the officer passes the written examination, he or she
must pass a scored oral exam presented by our management team.
If the oral exam is passed, the Officer is placed on a list for potential promotion.
If the officer is promoted, the officer is assigned a training supervisor that
monitors their behavior and supervision style.
To be considered for permanent supervisory status, the potential supervisor must
show that he or she can:
- Be completely knowledgeable of the policy manual.
- Be responsible for seeing that other officers are familiar and understand new or
changed instructions.
- Inspect uniforms on an ongoing basis throughout the day and ensure corrections are
made.
- Review logs and reports for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and legibility.
- Make recommendations to Management staff concerning disciplinary action or
commendation.
- Take charge in emergency situations.
- Make final decisions in all cases where a dispute or difference arises
between Security Officers.
- Be responsible for proper use, maintenance and accounting of all equipment
such as radios, gear, vehicles, etc; that security officers use.
- Perform shift coverage when an officer is absent due to a sickness or emergency.
- Be respected and trusted by subordinates.
